Richard Gibson Architects was founded in 1972 to respond to a need for a locally based architectural service, previously provided remotely from mainland Scotland. Over 40 years the practice has developed a unique wealth of experience of building in the harsh Shetland climate, has endured the difficulties, and enjoyed the benefits of working in a remote island such as Shetland.
Richard Gibson Architects deal with all aspects of building design, from planning to construction. They can provide detailed drawings and specs for costing and construction. They can also provide full project management.
Communication is key and Richard Gibson Architect are very good at listening to what the customer requires, they are also very good at building on and advising you on your ideas.
Sustainability and reducing energy consumption are key in this day and age, this is fundamental to all Richard Gibson Architects building designs.
Richard Gibson designs have received many awards over the years including, Saltire Housing Design Awards, Shetland Environment Award, Association for the Protection of Rural Scotland Award and many more.
