Being part of Lerwick town centre
The LHD Shop has been in its current location in the former Leask’s/North of Scotland building for 12 years. Before that, the business was based at the north end of the Albert Building for a further 24 years, giving it a long-standing presence in Lerwick town centre.

Most popular products and services
One of the shop’s most popular products year-round is the Bråtens Norwegian lambswool socks, which are so popular they are shipped all around the world through the online store. Product trends often change with the seasons, and right now angling gear is particularly popular. The shop is also busy supplying fuel to pleasure crafts and yachts through its red diesel tank. Fashion clothing remains a strong seller, while souvenirs are always in high demand during the summer season.
Favourite products
A personal favourite has to be the YETI insulated mugs and flasks. Available in a range of colours, they are known for being incredibly durable and excellent at keeping drinks hot or cold for hours.

What makes the business unique
LHD’s long history as a trusted local company is a huge part of what makes it special. The familiar four fish logo is instantly recognisable to many in the community. The shop also prides itself on outstanding customer service, with knowledgeable staff whose experience spans decades. With such a wide range of products and brands on offer, that expertise helps customers find exactly what they need.

Being part of the local community
Serving local businesses, particularly within the fishing sector, is something the team values greatly. Knowing the products they supply help make customers’ jobs easier is incredibly rewarding. Equally important are the relationships built with customers over the years – from regular faces to memorable conversations, the sense of community is something the business truly treasures.

Why visit LHD Shop
LHD may look modest from the outside, but inside it is an Aladdin’s cave packed with something for everybody.
While some people may still think of it as a men’s shop or somewhere mainly for fishermen, the reality is far broader – with ladies’ fashion, children’s clothing, outdoor leisure goods, dog accessories and much more all available.
There is always something new on the shelves, making every visit worth a browse.
