About the Business
The embroidery department of LHD Marine Supplies started in 1998. Initially, the service was set up to help local businesses personalise work clothes with company logos, names, and other branding. Over the years, the department has grown and now offers embroidery and printing for a wide range of garments and merchandise, helping businesses, clubs, and community groups bring their ideas to life.
What do you enjoy most about running a business in a small community like Lerwick?
For LHD Custom Clothing, it’s all about connection. Being part of the town’s business community allows them to work face-to-face with other local companies, making collaborations easier and more personal. They also enjoy being involved in big events, such as UHA, Tall Ships, and the Island Games, helping make things happen for the wider community.
Why Lerwick Town Centre is Special
Lerwick’s town centre offers a vibrant hub for business and community life. LHD loves supporting other local businesses and seeing the streets busy with visitors. “The bunting and flowers really make it feel special,” they say. “It’s a great location, and it’s lovely to watch all the comings and goings at the harbour.”
Supporting the Local Community
LHD helps the community by offering merchandise, clothing, and accessories for a variety of events—UHA, stag and hen parties, Secret Santas, and more. Whether it’s one item or 1,500+, their small but dedicated team can take on the job. Customers are always welcome to come in and discuss their needs in person, no need to shop online.
What Makes the Business Unique
Being based right in the town means LHD Custom Clothing can provide a personal, hands-on service. They are ready to discuss your ideas, offer advice, and create exactly what you need, making every project personal and stress-free.
