I recently went to visit Simon at The Wine Shop. I was quite excited because I just love looking around this shop. It has so many different Wines, Gins, Whisky. In fact, anything alcoholic can be found in this special shop.
As you walk through the door you are met with an entire shop full of bottles.
The Wine Shop opened in 1985, before this the shop was a hardware shop. There is something for everyone in this shop. From beautiful Wines to specialist Gins and Whiskys.
If there is something you are looking for and they don’t have it, they will try and get it in for you.
They have some unique products, which is why this shop is so special. Simon and the staff at the shop are so knowledgeable about the products they stock. If you are looking for something special, they will be able to advise you.
Did you know, if there is something you would like to buy for that special person in your life but you may not be able to get to the shop or even live in Shetland, don’t worry, give them a call and they will take your order over the phone and deliver it to a Shetland address. You don’t get that kind of service from your supermarket!
If you are a holiday maker on the island and you have spotted something you’d like to take home but can not fit it in your luggage, don’t despair, they will take your order and send it to any UK address.
There best seller in the shop is no other than Shetland Reel Gin. It is great that local shops support local producers, such as Lerwick Brewery, Viking Mead, Shetland Distillery and Valhalla Brewery.
If alcoholic drinks are not for you but you like to join in with celebrations, then there is a range of non-alcoholic drinks available too, including non-alcoholic spirits!
There are also Vegan and Vegetarian wines available, as well as gluten free beers. So there really is something for everyone at The Wine Shop
They always try to keep their prices competitive, which can be a difficult task at times as they can not buy in bulk like supermarkets can. But, they make up for this with thier knowledge, great customer service and their ability to stock specialist products.
