The Swan Trust was formed in 1990, and today is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the Swan. The main objectives of the Trust are:
To encourage and facilitate interested parties and particularly young people to sail on the Swan.
To teach and keep alive the techniques of sailing and working a traditional sail Fifie.
To maintain the Swan as a viable charitable enterprise.
