The 2018 Winter Festival parade will begin at Albert Wharf as Santa arrives aboard the Lerwick Lifeboat. He will greet the bairns from Peerie Foxes and the Lerwick Jarl's Squad before they make their way up to the lower Fort Road. The full procession will leave from outside Thulecraft at approximately 3.45pm, making it's way along Commercial Street to the Market Cross. Here, the Brass Band will play and Santa will sit for photos with the public after the official switch on of the tree lights by 'magic' supplied by the bairns with their home-made wands.

The parade will also include a guest appearance from Conner the Goat and some of Santa's little helpers!

Please note that there will be some road closures in the area over this time, but these will be kept to a minimum. The public are requested not to park any vehicles under the Fort after 2.30pm to allow access for the procession participants. Alternative parking will be available on the Pier, at Market Street, Fort Road, Hillhead, Church Road and in surrounding areas.
