Steve Mathieson, Chairman of Living Lerwick, presented a cheque to Stephanie Bain of Disability Shetland yesterday for money raised for the charity during the Lerwick Lanes fun run event earlier this month.
£50.00 was raised in registration fees for the race, and additional donations. This was presented to Disability Shetland for use in the work they do to help many people in the Shetland community.
Following the presentation, Stephanie outlined some of the services provided by the organisation, including the provision of boat trips in the 'Wootton Lass'; a boat designed to allow passengers in wheelchairs and with other physical disabilities to take trips.
