During Shopping Week, Living Lerwick Ltd ran a ‘spot the puffin’ competition. Twenty-five retailers in the town centre displayed the same puffin in their windows for the competitors to spot.

Living Lerwick Manager, Christena Irvine said: “We had a good response to the spot the puffin competition. It was great to see all the bairns on their search for the puffins during Shopping Week. Businesses really got behind it and donated a total of £50 in gift vouchers. We received 24 correct entries. All the correct entry forms we received were put into a hat and Director Ben Mullay of the Camera Centre picked a winner. The winner was 10 year old Kayla Shearer.”

Kayla won £50 worth of gift tokens from: Aa Fired Up, Cee & Jays, George Robertson Ltd, Harry’s Department Store, LHD Marine Supplies, The Camera Centre, The Peerie Shop, The Shetland Fudge Company and Westside Pine.

Kayla said: “It was good fun. A couple were hard to find and we had to go twice to find them. It was definitely worth it.”

Kayla’s mum, Julie Williamson said: “We did it on a beautiful day. It was a great way to spend a morning with the bairns in the holidays.”
