Favourite STV weatherman, Sean Batty will be in Shetland on Thursday 30th August to take part in a fundraising campaign for STV Children's appeal which raises funds for children in poverty across Scotland.pa – or several! – as he joins Shetland locals for tea parties and other fun events, all in aid of Scotland’s children. STV will be filming Sean’s day on the island for its special Appeal programming later this year.

To support this, local town centre businesses are getting together to host a Street Party between 12 and 2pm with homebakes and other refresh
Sean Batty's Tunnock's Tea Party, supported by Loganair, will see Sean enjoy a cupments. The public are invited along to the north end of Commercial Street to take part. Sean and the STV film crew will be at the Street Party from 12noon - 1pm filming for the appeal programme to be broadcast later this year.

Sean said: “In Shetland I’d love to meet as many people as possible for a wee cuppa, a biscuit and a blether - so why not get your school, business or club involved and I’ll try and pop in to meet you all. Remember, the more money you’re able to raise, the more sunshine I’ll bring with me!”

Living Lerwick Project Manager Selina-May Miller said “We are so thrilled to be able to support such a great event and create a street party right in our town centre. There are many local businesses getting involved either by baking or by promoting and supporting this event. Let's make it a real party atmosphere and do Shetland proud!”
