LOCUS

Ben Mullay, Director of Living Lerwick, today presented 3 winners with their prizes from the recent World Cup Competition.

During June and July almost 60 people visited 32 local shops and businesses in Lerwick town centre to collect flag stickers representing every nation in the FIFA World Cup. The eventual winners, Love from Shetland (France) were awarded a chocolate replica world cup, created by Mirrie Dancers Chocolatier.

Today was the turn of the public. Kath Kelly will receive a personalised football caricature print, which she plans to dedicate to her grandson, donated by the Camera Centre. Finn Regan, 13, received a football from Thulecraft and Robbie Polson, 7, received a chocolate football boot made by Mirrie Dancers. By happy coincidence, the football boot was in the colours of Robbie’s favourite team and the football strip he was wearing, Portugal!

There will be additional competitions including a scavenger hunt, find the mascot window trail, guess the bonny baby and more in the upcoming Shopping Week festivities. Shopping Week runs from 6th to 12th August and full programme details are available online now at www.livinglerwick.co.uk/events.
