ReadFlagstone Work Complete Ahead of Schedule
The flagstone works at the north end of Commercial Street were completed on Friday, more than a week ahead of schedule, thanks to recent good weather. Barrier fencing surrounding the work site has now been cleared and the street will remain closed to vehicles until the end of next month to allow the flagstone base to cure.

The Christmas parade and light switch-on took place on Saturday 1st December and was enjoyed by over 1000 onlookers, with enough of a break in the weather to allow for a very enjoyable event.
ReadSSEN Help to Light Up Lerwick Town Centre
Employees from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) stepped in to support Living Lerwick by volunteering to help light up the town this Christmas. A team of ten employees volunteered their time from Monday 19 November to Sunday 25 November to install nearly 1km of stainless steel wire the length of Commercial Street to allow the Christmas lights to be safely hung in the town.

Living Lerwick commissioned JJ Jamieson to produce a video to showcase the town centre, it’s businesses and the community they serve. JJ filmed during Shopping week and used the services of local poet, James Sinclair, to create the voiceover. In just one day, it was viewed over 21,000 times and shared by 340 people.
